User led not for profit

User Led
Not for profit

DAIS is a user led organisation that was set up two years ago due to the realisation that there was no support for Disabled adults and children when it came to the basics like form filling.
User led means that the support or advocacy you receive will be from a person with a Disability a person that is able to empathise with your situation.

Children, adults family and carers

Children, Adults, Family & Carers

It is important for us at DAIS to ensure that support is given not only to the Disabled individual but also to the families and carers of the child or adult.
We believe that all the people involved with your independence should be empowered and enabled as you are.
DAIS support and advise

Service
and Support

DAIS offers support and advocacy in all areas that enable you to have control and choice to live your life as independently as you are able with support or not.
We are here to enable you to set up your support with the Social services or your Health care with NHS.
Form filling is necessary, we can help complete these for you and find any literature needed.

Community Interest Company & Social Enterprise

DAIS is a Social Enterprise & Community Interest Company. We were accepted for a grant from the School of Social Entrepreneurs, Winchester.  Funded by Lloyd's bank, National Lottery fund and School for Social entrepreneurs.

Our goal at DAIS is to enable and empower all Disabled individuals. Whether it is a hidden or visible Disability, whether you are old or young, your impairment is Mental Health, Physical or long term illness it is regardless.

We are here to support and advocate for you. To ensure that you have the correct information to empower you to feel able to take control of your environment or for you to pass on information to a friend to enable them.

Volunteering and Internships

As a voluntary organisation run by Disabled people we would like to encourage Disabled people to volunteer with us. As we are still in our infancy but growing we want to make our presence known in our community. To do this we thought of Groups run by Disabled adults, families and friends in all areas of Southampton. Each to facilitate the events, coffee or prayer groups but having the main focus on the issues surrounding Disabled Children and Adults in our communities. Each group would have links direct to us at DAIS to ensure that all the correct information, leaflets etc would be given and DAIS would be present when needed or each group meeting if required.

If this would be of interest to anyone please complete the contact form or get in touch with us via any mode of communication you prefer.

I really hope that we hear from people who want to make a difference and start shouting about what we as Disabled adults and children need to take our control back..
